SIMP takes it to SMITHS

The crowd started flowing into the Atlanta room at Smiths Olde Bar as SIMP sat at a table and causally sipped his red wine as he chatted with a fan. DJ Sky was gracing the turntables as the audience slowly began to warm up from the cold evening air. Once he took the stage, there was no turning back. He gracefully moved through his set with a relaxed energy that became increasingly contagious. The vibe of the room was intimate, yet the performer seemed larger than life as he commanded the attention of the audience.  SIMP has found his stage presence, and his fans in attendance were obviously appreciative.

Back in the Lab with SIMP and DJ SKY

It’s been a long time since the ATL Flood of ‘09 and the music is finally bumpin’ against these four walls once again. It feels good to be powered back up in the Beat Studies Lab.

DJ Sky (your friendly neighborhood DJ) is in the house for a rehearsal that is in preparation for SIMP’s Friday night (Jan.15) performance opening for “Travelling Without Moving” (A Jamiroquai Tribute Band) at Smiths olde Bar (Alanta room).

SIMP is primed and ready to deliver with a fresh supply of dope rhymes and as I type, he stumbles over his lyrics LOL. Good thing we’re practicing. Nah, he is definitely in a good position to deliver a pristine performance of songs mostly from “The Challenger”.  SIMP has also been on the Sade tip lately and one of her songs, Jezebel, smoothly makes its way in to the set.
