“The Real ATL”

If you are interested in what the underground is truly capable of, peep this new joint by ATL’s hottest. 4-Ize’s “Illuminated Animals” was my favorite mixtape to hit the streets in 2009. Senor Kaos is still pumpin’ his latest and greatest mix-tape, “Walk Softly and Carry a Big Brick”. Boog Brown’s “Grind Season” is out now and it is on FIRE.  These are the trend setters for our scene. We expect big things from all three this year.

Now here it is. Thanks to DJ Grandman… “The Real ATL” brings them all together on one song.

STUDIO 8 MAKING A PUSH

We are in an era where innovation is a must when it comes to making a music videos. For one to stand out amongst the thousands that inundate the internet, it must have an certain edge to it that can capture the attention of our easily distracted minds. The folks at Studio 8, an Atlanta based production team, have found that edge. It is a combination of technical savvy and artistic expression that mixes into a delicious cocktail of creativity. For many, the music video for 4-ize’s “Classic Example” will be their first taste of what this talented team can concoct.

From the opening song on “Illuminated Animals”, which shook the underground upon its release late 2009, this music video also features the smooth rhyme styling of Senor Kaos. Punchline was also featured on the original track, but was noticeably absent from the music video. He was unable to make it to Atlanta on the day there were shooting. Without further delay, let’s watch…

Got Ham?

Underground Superproducer KATO teams up with The Beat Gods and 4-ize for this joint fresh off off the deli tray. The ATL music scene is a well oiled machine cranking out innovative music on the regular.  I just want to know, what does it mean to go “Ham”?  Please leave a comment on what you think this all means.
