Hip Hop 101 Episode 1

On our first day, we introduce ourselves to the students of Avondale High School in Atlanta, GA. Q-San gives his insight on the hip-hop industry… “It pays to keep your ear to the street”, he reminds them as he speaks on the regional nature of the genre. Student, Jaleel Wheeler then takes the discussion to another level. SIMP then gives student, Brooklyn, an idea of what the job of A&R entails. This 17 year old, however, thinks he’s already got it all figured out.

Rita J and J-Live in “The Cut”

The editing on this video is really dope and of course the song is hot too.  Rita J is an amazing artist with the look and sound of somebody who really knows what the f#$& shes doing.

“The Real ATL”

If you are interested in what the underground is truly capable of, peep this new joint by ATL’s hottest. 4-Ize’s “Illuminated Animals” was my favorite mixtape to hit the streets in 2009. Senor Kaos is still pumpin’ his latest and greatest mix-tape, “Walk Softly and Carry a Big Brick”. Boog Brown’s “Grind Season” is out now and it is on FIRE.  These are the trend setters for our scene. We expect big things from all three this year.

Now here it is. Thanks to DJ Grandman… “The Real ATL” brings them all together on one song.
