So…I’ve been going through it lately and I’m done with it. As most of you know I am an independent Hip Hop artist in ATL, but that’s just half of my story. I am also a college graduate who keeps the lights on and food on the table by working a job in a industry that I despise (i.e. news media). I won’t include the name of my employer, but just know that I HATE my job!!! No offense to the people I work with. Some of you were great encouragement, whether directly or indirectly if you know what I mean.
I have balanced the two fairly well up until this point, but balance will not allow me to excel. If you look at a double sided scale one side has to decline in order for the other to rise. It’s time to choose which side I will put the majority of my weight.
Now…some may see this as a complaining or bitching, but on the contrary I am far from bitching. I am giving you insight into my life in hopes that if you feel the same you will know that you are not alone. But, i have come to the realization that our hatred of a mundane and systematic life is one that we can overcome. How you ask? QUIT!!! Why are you still there? Money? Health care? It’s what your suppose to do by societies standards? Eff that! I would much rather dream awake then live asleep.
Sometimes in life we have to follow our hearts and not our eyes and mind. I’ll be leaving my job soon to focus on what I love to do. I have put this off for way too long. I’m going all in and I’m not going to fail. Many people with dreams wait for others to show them or tell them that their dreams are realistic. This dreamer has decided to believe in himself whether you like it or not.
With that said…there is no room for negativity for me on this journey. If you don’t support or believe; get out of my way. I’m not saying it to be rude, but its just the facts. Negativity is the downfall of man. So…take your negative A$$ and jump off a bridge. If your with me; strap on your parachute and lets jump! No…time to look back! I’ll be keeping you posted on my journey. Stay tuned!
