WELCOME TO BEAT STUDIES

We are an independent hip-hop record label in Atlanta. Though we started out making beats, we have grown into a full service artist development and production house for music. Collaboration and Learning are at the core of our operation.
We strive to bring resources within the Atlanta hip-hop community together for a common purpose. Our main desire is to make real substantive music and help develop the fine talent that pumps through our underground. Let us challenge the mainstream together and resurrect a genre that has lost touch with its most dedicated fans. Many of us share this desire. I have heard the talk. We do have the power to start a movement, we just need to focus our collective energy in a common direction. Beat Studies is willing and prepared to help those who share  our vision.
I have spent more than a decade learning how to make better music. The countless hours reading gear and software manuals, experimenting with microphones and pre-amps, and refining my instrument skills have helped, but it is the knowledge and instruction from experienced producers that has taught me the most. Although I have been at it for a minute now, I still have so much to learn about what I can do to help musicians translate their ideas and creative visions to their recordings. I always will.
Now that we are a record label, there is a brand new learning challenge before me. It is not only about making great music, it is about branding and marketing the music so it actually gets heard. I have been reading books and blogs on this for years, but the experience of doing this has taught me more than all the reading combined.
The aim of our website is to share our music, knowledge and experiences with you. If this interests you please check back with us periodically to hopefully learn something about the music industry at its most fundamental level. Thank you for visiting our site.
